Treasure's Story...
Treasure is a 9 month-old shih tzu mix.He was one of about 9 puppies rescued from a farmer who was ready to put him down because of a hernia. A neighbor lady took most of the puppies, but feared Treasures medical needs would be more than she could handle. When our rescue agreed to take the puppies she had left, we asked her to go back for Treasure. The farmer was going to put him down THAT DAY! He is in foster care and loves being an active little puppy. He loves attention and gets along with everyone he meets. He snuggles and snorts which is extremely cute. Playing tug of war with his siblings is his favorite activity. He is pee pad trained and can walk on a leash. His name says it all, so if you need a loving addition you can adopt this charming little boy. Treasure requires a secure fenced yard. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at www.atailtotell.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Treasure, a Mount Gretna Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Mount Gretna, or seeking a Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Mount Gretna.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mount Gretna already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mount Gretna breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mount Gretna paves the way for another one to be saved.
