Cassie's Story...
Cassie is a young 6 yr old, tricolor, spayed female, Sheltie who came from a neglect situation. She had been living in a crate in a van and had not been given the training or socialization she needs to be confident and happy. Now that she is in foster care she is learning what treats are, how to come when called, and how to walk on a leash. She is a very loving and sweet girl who needs some ongoing training and socialization. As she learns the routine in her stable and loving foster home she is blossoming and becoming a wonderful companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cassie, a San Diego Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
