PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Grace is a beautiful girl who was deserted by her former family. They got her as a puppy then gave her away to someone they knew. The new owner didn't treat her very well, and just made her a yard dog. Grace ran away from them and found her way back home to the original owner. Sadly, that person would not take her back in and just left her wandering the streets to fend for herself. The people in the neighborhood say she has been there for about 4 years now, surviving on trash and what few scraps people put out for her. She had many litters of puppies during that time. We came to know about her when working on a hoarding case in that same neighborhood. We saw Grace going into an abandoned house and it was obvious that she was nursing puppies. We asked around about her and that's the story we got. So we went in and took her and her 7 puppies. All of her puppies have been adopted and now it is Grace's turn to find a home of her own. Grace loves to cuddle. She gets along very well with other dogs - males, females, young, old, small or large. She likes to play with other dogs and will play until she wears herself out. But at the same time, she is not a particularly high energy, hyper dog. When it's time to relax, she is all about crawling into bed and snuggling up to her person. She is almost completely house trained, but may need an adjustment period in her new home, and some reminders to go potty when she is outside. Grace is going thru heartworm treatment currently and will be available for adoption in a few weeks. She will make a wonderful companion for any family situation. For more info about Grace, email

About Adopt-A-Stray - MA

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt-A-Stray Rescue was founded in Jan. 2010 by Kelley Prichard. Kelley saw a need for the unwanted pets at the local Animal Control to be given a chance at life. Adopt-A-Stray is a non profit (pending) Rescue group. We routinely pull dogs (and sometimes cats) from the euthanasia list at our local kill shelter. We also take in strays and owner surrenders as space/resources permit. Most of our available pets are located in ARkansas and are transported to the northeast once they are adopted or have a foster home to go to. The transporters we use most often are Got Orphans Transport ( and Alpha Dog Transport ( All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations and are seen by our vet prior to going to their new homes. Please email for more info on our adoption procedures.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Call for an appointment. Since we dont have a physical shelter, it is important that you call or email before trying to meet the pets. We have most of them in foster homes, some here in Arkansas and some in the Northeast.

Our Adoption Process...

I required that all pets in the home are current on veterinary care - this includes vaccinations and heartworm prevention, minimum.
I require that every pet in the home (ok, maybe not fish and reptiles) be spayed/neutered unless there is a valid medical reason not to.
I have an adoption application and contract for each pet.
My adoption fee varies, depending on what type of pet, breed, age, and medical condition.
