My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IDGSR welcomes Harris into the safety of the rescue!!!

Harris is a male German Shepherd mix who came to us from a shelter. A caring volunteer offered to foster him and that saved his life. His foster mom has written a beautiful description of Harris:

"What I have learned about him in the last week is that he is a Velcro dog and has chosen me as his person. He LOVES to play. He plays great with my two IDGSR alumni dogs. He is housebroken and has only played with dog toys in the house. He hasn't bothered anything else. We have met about 20 people and he has done well with all ages. Yesterday there were about 10 kids in and out of the house and he wanted to be right in the middle of them. We hiked 3 miles and he did wonderful. He did get very excited and pulled on the leash when we came up on turkeys and cows. He has learned sit and we are working on off and wait. He says those are hard. We have 2 cats and he occasionally chases one of them in a playful way. The cat starts it though because he plays that way with my other dogs. He rides great in the car. Crate training is going well. He is a sweetheart and has a great temperament. He learns quickly."

Harris is enjoying being at this foster home but wants to find a family of his own to love. If you would like to make this dog a part of your family, please copy the link and fill out an application.
