Sweet BJ is about one year old, weighs twelve pounds, and has tested negative for heartworms.  He is great with children, cats, and small/medium dogs (although he gets a little bossy around larger dogs), and is doing well with leash-, kennel-, and house-training.  His foster mom describes him as precious, loving, gentle, always happy, having a wonderful personality, a joy, snuggle bunny, and--an added bonus for you road warriors--travels extremely well in the car!  BJ loves being out in public and can make friends with anyone willing to give him some attention.  At home, he makes a great bedfellow.  He is very smart and minds well.  If you are interested in this awesome little guy and have an active outlet to help him get enough exercise, be sure to get your application in soon; he has so much to offer a single person, a couple, or a family!

About East Mississippi Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

East Mississippi Animal Rescue started in 2001 and is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of abandoned animals in East Mississippi.

EMAR is a small group of dedicated volunteers trying to make a difference in our community. We are not a shelter with visiting hours; animals are housed at the homes of volunteers, which means we can accept only a limited number of animals at a time.

Each animal is given basic medical care and, if at an appropriate age, is spayed or neutered. The adoption fee charged for puppies or kittens includes a spay or neuter fee so the procedure can be done when the animal is old enough. Adoption fees also help cover routine veterinary costs.
Rescue expenses are funded by donations and adoption fees.
