Ruby was rescued from Monroe County Animal Control very skinny and covered in fleas. Ruby has really made a lot of progress in her time with us. She has put on weight and now looks very healthy. She does have her particulars like a stuffed squeaky baby that she can cuddle with. She has an abundant amount of love to give. She loves to please and be rewarded with cuddles, kisses and belly rubs. She loves to go on walks and play catch or tug of war. Ruby does incredibly well with people but is not a real fan of other animals. If you are looking for a little girl to be in your life....look no further than this little redhead.

Ruby's adoption fee is $175; she is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Some of our pets are in foster care. If you are interested in a specific pet, please contact the shelter at (618) 939-7389 to arrange a meeting.

About Helping Strays of Monroe County

About Our Shelter...

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
