Hi my name is Carmella-Bella, Mella for short and I just turned three years old. My daddy calls me a honey badger because I am short and strong and sassy. I LOVE to play fetch with my tennis ball and run zoomie laps around the back yard. I am a whopping 35lbs of solid muscle and sometimes dad says I have springs in my feet. I am a professional at walking on a leash but I prefer to just run around the yard. I am crate trained, house broken, know basic commands and am sure to keep you laughing all day with my silly personality. My birthday is November 3rd and I will be four years old.

My name is Grace-face, and my daddy calls me Gracie. I am Mella's big sister and we are looking for a home together. Mella is the sassy one, I am the quiet one. My favorite thing in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD is to play with my Kong. I will carry it with me everywhere I go and even do flips to try to catch it when you throw it for me. My daddy says I look like a bear-bull, probably because I am as sweet as honey and I hear bears love honey. I am bigger than Mella but I only weigh about 45lbs and I will also be 4 in November. We are looking for a home with no other pets and a fenced in yard. Who needs other pets when you have us? We have PLENTY of love to share.

About Virginia Paws for Pits

About Our Rescue Group...

VPFP is on a mission to educate the public on the misconceptions that go hand in hand with "pit bulls" we strive to match families with the perfect dog for their lifestyle and activity level to ensure that the adoption is a success for all involved. Pit bulls and mixes account for 58% of dogs in shelters and nearly 2800 are killed every day in the united states. We promote spaying and neutering in the community and encourage our adopters to use their dogs as ambassadors for this misunderstood class of dogs, by going out into the community and making a difference.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary from $50-$250 depending on the age of the animal, the amount of care provided, and the duration of their time in our rescue program. You can apply online via our website and we will be in touch with you in 48-72 hours. We do a reference check with your vet to make sure all animals in the home are current on vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered. We verify with landlords that the applicant can have a pet and there are no size or breed restrictions and finally we conduct a home inspection. Once approved there is an additional contract to sign stating that the adopter is taking over responsibility of the dog and that if at ANY time he/she is unable to care for the dog they must be returned to VPFP with ample notification to our board members.
