Facts about Cola

  • Breed: Domestic Longhair
  • Color: Black (All)
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Medium
Cola is a Domestic Long Hair (DLH), black, male kitten,16-weeks of age.

Cola is stunning with his beautiful, black, cotton-soft coat and his wonder-filled and warm, amber-colored eyes. Curious and playful, he enjoys games of peek-a-boo and chase, both interactively with people and other cats and kittens as well as on his own; he also enjoys play with toys. Present and involved, he likes people and any attention he can get when he is looking for it. Pretty smart too, he is easily coached with treats and other cat safe foods. Cola is a pretty social young guy, extremely friendly and loving, when he is not being the typical active kitten exploring every nook and cranny, he likes to unwind and cuddle in your arms showing his love and devotion with rubbing, purring, and nuzzling.

We rescued Cola (along with his sister Pecan) from Monroe County Animal Control where he was treated on intake to Monroe SPCA for URI, Coccidia, ear mites, roundworm, tapeworm, and flea infestation. He is now a healthy, happy, and vibrant young kitten, free of parasites and disease, and looking for his forever home.

Cola is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle. He is a confident and outgoing kitten who gets along well with other compatible cats, and he’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered dogs. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Cola currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. Come meet him during adoption hours, Tuesday – Saturday, 12:00 pm -2:00 pm; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, dewormed, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

About Monroe SPCA

About Our Rescue Group...

Monroe SPCA (Monroe Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a 501c.3 tax-exempt, non-profit animal welfare and rescue organization incorporated in the State of Michigan in 2010. Monroe SPCA is governed by all-volunteer Board of Directors.

Monroe SPCA’s mission is to save, protect, and improve the lives of animals. One of the ways we accomplish our mission is by being the leading non-profit organization facilitating adoptions and providing medical care and treatment to homeless animals at Monroe County Animal Control. We are also the leading rescuer and rehabilitator of animals at this shelter, finding and securing placement for some of the neediest and most vulnerable animals with partner rescue organizations (all of them no-kill) as well as through our own network of foster homes.

Additionally, Monroe SPCA, now, also provides every dog at Monroe County Animal Control with basic preventative health care which includes flea preventative, deworming(s), DHPP vaccine and booster, and Heartworm Testing. If a dog tests positive for Heartworm, Monroe SPCA also provides that dog with Heartworm Treatment.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process starts with filling out an Adoption Application on the animal you're interested in adopting. Once we've received and reviewed your completed application we’ll contact you, usually within 2-3 days (remember, we're all volunteers). Our adoptions are best-fit placements, meaning we strive to ensure a good match for both, the animal being adopted and the adopter.

Our adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $120.00 to $200.00.
Our adoption fee for cats and kittens is $75.00.

Adoption fee includes the animal being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption as well as all dogs being Heartworm negative or receiving treatment for Heartworm.
