My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pecan is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, 1.5 years of age.

Pecan is a calm and quiet, extremely sweet-natured cat. More easily pleased and undemanding, than independent, she is content to be hanging-out and observing activities most of the time rather than being right-up in the action or the center of attention. Put her in the mix with other cats though, and she’ll be happily participating in their lively games of hide-and-seek, chase, or exploration. Interactive play with a feathered toy causes her to lose any inhibitions she has, and it’s one of her favorite activities.

We treated Pecan at intake for a URI, Coccidia, ear mites, roundworm, tapeworm, and flea infestation. She is now a healthy and happy young cat looking for her forever home.

Pecan is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low-active lifestyle. Friendly and happy-to-be-around, but somewhat shy with unfamiliar people and situations, she gets along well with other compatible cats, and she’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered dogs.

As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit will be required prior to adoption.

Pecan currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. You can meet her Tuesday – Friday, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Saturday 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
