❤️❤️Update !! 10-20-2016 ! Red is doing very well gaining weight and showing everyone what gentleman he is -- rare is his color and rare is this disposition ! Red is super broke and a personality that is off the chart ❤️- He is a a tall boy and quiet , loves grooming & stands well for farrier . This great guy is one we'd call a "husband horse".  He can go out on his own, has no herd-bound issues, is soft, gentle, eager.
Red thrives with gentle attention.  He cannot be handled heavy-handedly.  He is partially sighted in one eye.  We learned from his history that Red was a bottle baby.  The transition from bottle baby, adored to Amish had to be especially hard on this boy, and he is relishing every moment of being cherished by humans again.  He is conscientious of space, always wants to make his people happy, and is a joy to have around.
He is accepting application and is now cleared for adoption !
Red's adoption fee is set at $600.  He is only 15 years old and is a trotter , come by and meet this handsome fella - he will steal your heart !

About Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a dedicated team or horsemen (and horsewomen) who are seeking to fill the void for those horses that have no alternatives. Our Mission is as follows:

1) To be first responders and a resource to horses and livestock in cases of abuse and neglect. To provide those animals a safe harbor sanctuary where they will be treated with diginity and love as they prepare for new lifelong home.

2) To serve at risk and medically fragile children, as well as recovering veterans through structured equine experience opportunities.

3) To become a resource to low income families, unable to continue to care for their equine and livestock animals; providing food assistance when possible, or offering rescue rehoming services when possible.
