Facts about Bosco (Bosco RD888)

  • Breed: Standardbred
  • Color: Bay
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Unknown
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10549294

Bosco is very bonded to Kramer, and if possible we would like to keep them together, but we will consider separate homes if an appropriate option is found.

Bosco came to rescue with a ruptured eye abcess, and has had one eye removed.  He was likely blind in that eye for many years, and it does not affect his temperament.  He is calm, and not fearful.  Aside from the cosmetic aspect of being a one-eyed boy, Bosco is a great easy gelding.  He's a been there, done that boy, and a fantastic starter horse that your little ones can learn with.

Both Bosco and Kramer adore children.

His adoption fee is set at our After The Track minimum of $500.  This boy is a true gem, and the amount of love he can bring to your life is priceless.

Why a Standardbred???

From the time they are yearlings nearly every After the Track Standardbred is:

  • Handled Daily
  • Trained to pick up their feet
  • Cross-Tied
  • Loaded Onto Trailers
  • Stands for the Vet and Farrier
  • Accepts Tack
  • Bathes and Body Clips
  • Gets used to crowds, tractors and car noise

About Safe Harbor Equine and Livestock Sanctuary

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a dedicated team or horsemen (and horsewomen) who are seeking to fill the void for those horses that have no alternatives. Our Mission is as follows:

1) To be first responders and a resource to horses and livestock in cases of abuse and neglect. To provide those animals a safe harbor sanctuary where they will be treated with diginity and love as they prepare for new lifelong home.

2) To serve at risk and medically fragile children, as well as recovering veterans through structured equine experience opportunities.

3) To become a resource to low income families, unable to continue to care for their equine and livestock animals; providing food assistance when possible, or offering rescue rehoming services when possible.
