Castiel's Story...
10/16/2016: CASTIEL HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Castiel is an 8 week old labrador retriever mix (we were told they are mixed with hound but they look mostly lab). He came in with his 2 brothers, Crowley and Cane, who are also available. These boys are probably going to be LARGE dogs when full grown as they are big babies at 8 weeks! Since they are puppies, they will need to be trained but you will be able to raise them to be the kind of dogs you want them to be-they will be good with other dogs, cats, and any other animal as well as children if socialized and raised around them. Since they are puppies, they will be playful and have puppy energy to expend. They will also want to chew so make sure that you have plenty of chew toys available! Since they will be big dogs, they will need a good amount of exercise so a fenced in yard or daily runs, walks or visits to the dog park would be perfect for these boys! Kids and other pets to play with will help wear them down energy wise and will help you out a great deal ;) If you adopt one of these boys, be prepared for lots of fun and a lifetime of love! Their adoption fee will be $150 each and will help to cover their vetting and cost of care while with us. If interested in giving one of these handsome boys a forever home, please email your interest and adoption application or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information or to arrange a visit. The boys are scheduled to be neutered and vetted on 9/28/2016 but we will try to get them in sooner if possible.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Castiel, a Chiefland Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound puppy from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
