Lancer Rance's Story...
I Need A Quiet, Calm, Home!
Lancer was born about May 15, 2011 and weighs about 25 lbs. He is stunning with his long'ish fur that has soft waves. Lancer is wonderful with the other dogs here and would be fine with or without another dog in his next life. He would be best in a rural location or in a fenced yard as he is fearful of new humans and he will snap when he feels cornered. His former owners just didn't want to deal with him anymore and there was an instance where he lunged at a 2 year old child while eating. Hmm....did he want what the kid was eating? He has never bitten anyone, but the potential is there if we don't find him a human or humans willing to keep him from ever being put in a situation where he may bite. He was pretty frazzled upon arrival, but started to fit in the next day and he's just part of the pack and is enjoying our crazy environment. So, he really doesn't need a 'quiet' home noise wise, just not one with a lot of human traffic where he will be unsupervised. When he was dropped off our volunteers also felt strongly that his former environment may have had something to do with his behavior and that someone, someday, is really going to love this guy. Actually, two volunteers wrote to assure us that they felt he will be fine. After only a week he wiggles and swirls at our legs if we approach him all cute and fun. He does really well in a car. We have discovered that he has too much interest in cats to live with any. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $150.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
Our primary goals here at Joyful Rescues are to re-home pets and save them from becoming homeless in the future, educate the public on pet care and spaying/neutering to control the pet overpopulation, to spay/neuter every pet before they leave us and spay/neuter as many pets, belonging to the public, as possible within our means.
