Lucy is such a sweetheart! Shy at first but after a little while she warms up and will gladly give you hugs and sweet Lucy kisses. She is a stunning, 2 yrs. old, spayed, vaccinated, Catahoula/ Bulldog mix. Saved just in time by Rescue Ridge from a local NYC shelter, Lucy is in a foster home and is well behaved there. She is dog friendly, with proper introduction, and is very loyal and loving to her foster family, including to the young children in the home. We prefer, however that she be adopted to a family with slightly older children, since she is powerful. Housebroken, crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, knows commands, takes toys, treats and food gently, great in the car, and promises to be one of the most loving, loyal, affectionate dogs you will ever meet. Particularly unique with one blue eye, one brown eye, and a big head that simply reflects her loving, big heart. Please apply to adopt Lucy in central N. J. at  and text 732 546 8805 or email for a meet and greet. No renters, please. Please share. About Rescue Ridge

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue Ridge is a 'last-chance' rescue. Staffed 100% through the efforts and donations of volunteers, we find homes for animals that other shelters and people have given up on. Through the kindness of various boarding kennels and foster families, rescued animals are cared for until they find that final family to love them.

Rescue Ridge began by rescuing healthy, beautiful, animals that were slated to be euthanized through no fault of their own. We felt it was unfair, that because their 'humans' had no more use for them, their days were numbered. We have tried to give each and every one of these companions a new lease on life. We rescued dogs, cats, horses and any other animal that we were able to help with our limited resources. And since we have limited space, we are always searching for those willing to help foster these wonderful creatures. We are always happy to provide information on options available to anyone needing to re-home their pet for whatever reason. It is our belief that education regarding pet ownership and its responsibilities is the best hope these companions have. You will have unending rewards when you give a second chance to one of these wonderful friends. They truly are the champions of giving unconditional love.

Volunteer dog walkers needed to walk our dogs. We also need volunteers to socialize our dogs. Must love dogs. Training will be provided. Our facility is located in Freehold, NJ. If you have a few hours a month to volunteer, please contact us at

Our Adoption Process...

Just contact us at, or call us at 732-681-3450, and we will be happy to provide you with an adoption application and, upon review of personal reference checks, vet checks, and possibly home visits, you may be chosen as a permanent home for that special companion. Please note that filling out an application does NOT automatically approve anyone for a specific adoption. We want to assure that the companion and adoptive family are each going to benefit from the adoption, and that it is as permanent an adoption as possible. We ask for help through donations to help cover the costs associated with keeping the companions up-to-date on vaccinations and spay/neuter programs. We request a donation of $100 for cats, and $200 - $400 for dogs, depending on the specific rescue. We are a tax-exempt organization so that any donation you make to Rescue Ridge is tax deductible, and all costs go directly to all of the animals we rescue.
