payton's Story...
This cute little girl is full of love! Even though she is still full of young kitten energy, she still loves to cuddle! So if you are looking for a companion to sit on your lap after a long day, or maybe chase a laser around for a while look no further!

Payton is an 8 year old little lady who was recently surrendered to our shelter following the death of her special person. Payton now finds herself starting over at a time when she should be curled up, content and living the good life in a home of her own. In the mix with lots of tiny kittens and youngsters in our cat room, Payton faces an uphill battle in trying to compete for her new beginning. Most visitors pass right by her kennel, seeing only her age, and not the sweet girl behind that number.

Adult cats are often a great choice for families, as they are well beyond the crazy antics of their kitten counterparts- Payton's manners are firmly in place! Also, with responsible vet care, cats can easily live well into their upper teens and beyond, meaning Payton is just getting started!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

payton, a Muskegon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Muskegon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Muskegon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muskegon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muskegon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muskegon paves the way for another one to be saved.
