Calvin's Story...
Calvin is an extremely sweet, male brown tabby cat with golden eyes and gorgeous markings looking for a loving guardian.

Sadly, Calvin was dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control when his family could no longer care for him. He is great with other cats, especially a shy cat named Debbie who he was dropped off at the shelter with.

Calvin is neutered and has all his claws. His adoption fee of $125 benefits Famous Fido’s Rescue. To meet and possibly adopt Calvin please fill in the adoption application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305.

Calvin is currently at the Famous Fido Rescue Headquarters at 3124 W. Irving Park Road (at Troy Street) in Chicago. Please call Gloria at 773-907-0305 to make an appointment to meet him and all the other wonderful dogs and cats at the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Calvin, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
