**Bear is currently being fostered in Houston. Unfortunately, meeting him prior to his adoption will not be possible. In short, Bear dog is AWESOME. He is the happiest little man you will meet in your entire life. Guaranteed. He is a lover of all things - human and animal - and we cannot imagine a dog who would make any family's life any happier on a daily basis.

Bear came to us after we inadvertently stumbled upon a dog hoarding situation. The people taking care of Bear were well-meaning, but were very clearly not in the position to take care of the number of dogs they had taken in from the streets. While we weren't planning on taking in so many new dogs, we knew that their well-being was at stake and we stepped in to help get the dogs vetted and placed.

Bear is 10 pounds of some type of Dachshund mix. We aren't really sure to be 100% honest! But at nearly a year old, he will stay small and spry.

Bear LOVES to run and play, his favorite friend at his foster family is a American Bulldog that he likes to run zooms with. He is a med-high energy boy, so we think he would be best suited for an active family that can help him properly expel all of his happiness!

Bear would be great as an addition to a family that already has a dog, but would also do great as a bachelor dog. He also currently lives with cats with no issues. His personality and demeanor lead us to believe he would also be a great dog for a family with kids who are respectful of animals.

Bear is doing very well with house training, but he is still occassionally having some accidents when he gets very excited. Bear should be adopted by a family who understands the situation that he came to us from and is committed to giving him the time and patience he needs to become an amazing dog. It can take dogs a few weeks to properly acclimate to their new lives, so he is seeking a family that can give him this time and work with him on becoming an even more awesome dog than he already is.

Bear is fully vetted (neutered, shots, microchip) and is heartworm negative. He does have a scar from a wound to his leg prior to coming to us, but it does not impact him. He does not have any health issues or allergies that we are aware of.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application. This can be done via our website at - please hover over the adoptables tab and the application will appear.

About Reggie's Friends - Baltimore

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on street dogs and shelter cases that other rescues may not have the resources for. We live and love by our motto Street Life To Sweet Life.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application that can be found on our website at under the Adoptables tab. Our team will then review the application, contact references, perform a vet-check, and request photos of the common areas of the house and yard that serve in lieu of a home visit. Following the completion of the application, we set up video chats either through Skype or Facetime between the foster and adoptive families.

Our adoption fee is $500, which includes the cost of transport and any relevant vet care appropriate to their age.

Guidelines to our basic adoption procedures can be found on our website under the adoptables tab.
