My favorite thing is hearing my fans rave and high-five my fabulous straight-up leap, 360 degree twist in mid-air followed by a perfect four-paw landing, no slip, no miss, no waverevery time. GIVE ME A BIG RUG AND DON'T HOLD THE APPLAUSE. My second favorite thing is eating. This makes sense when you consider how much energy goes into impressively great zigs and zags. Not to worry on the food budget. You can grow everything I need: leafy lettuces and escarole, dandelion greens, kale, parsley, mint, basil, cilantro. I'm happy to share, especially the kale. My third and most favorite thing is nose kisses from you. BUNNIES ARE MAGIC. If you have always wanted to live with a different companion animal, meet our adoptable rabbits at BUNNY PLAYGROUND: SATURDAYS, 2-4 PM. All Sonoma Humane Society rabbits are COMPANION HOUSE RABBITS and MUST LIVE IN THE HOUSE ONLY and kept safe from dogs. Indoor rabbits live 10-12+ years and require long-term care and commitment: years of love and joy to give and receive.

Our Adoption Process...

The process for adopting an animal may take up to an hour or longer in order to get to know and understand the animal you are bringing into your home for life. The Sonoma Humane Society prides itself on successful adoption rates because of the time we spend with you and your prospective pet upfront. First you must decide what type of animal is "right" for you. Are you more of a dog or a cat person or are you interested in a smaller animal like a rabbit, guinea pig or pocket pet? You must have a clear understanding of yourself, your family and your lifestyle to answer this question correctly. Many people need several visits before they can make the decision to adopt and we encourage you to take all the time you need to make your new relationship permanent.

Adoption Fees

Our animals receive the highest quality of medical care, diets, training and socialization to become a permanent part of your home. Our adoption fees do not cover the expenses for each animal that enters our facility. Thanks to donations from the community, we are able to offer more than any other shelter in the County. Just look at all of the quality care that each and every animal receives here in order to prepare them for a lifelong home with you.
