"This is Sparkle. Sparkle is an 11 year old German Shepherd mix female. She was a rescue 6 years ago and lived with a lovely older couple and six cats. She was very happy, but unfortunately, her human father died two months ago and his wife had to move and was not allowed to take her with her. Sparkle loves cats and people and is friendly with dogs but has never lived with another dog in her house. We think she would be thrilled with feline brothers and sisters. While she is shy at first meeting new dogs, she is calm and not aggressive so we think she'll warm up easily. She has the sweetest disposition, mellow, quiet, and she is totally house trained, and spayed. I would keep her but right now I live in Laurel Canyon and the fifty or so stairs to my house are too daunting for her, and although she walks well, she tends to slip on the stairs and roll down the hill, so she is always afraid to tackle them. She is healthy, she has her shots, and she takes vitamins and no meds. We believe Sparkle deserves a new loving home like the one she had until life intervened. Please consider adding this bundle of love to your home." Call or text Anne Marie 713 203 3783.

LA Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization. We are a small grassroots rescue that runs soley on donations and volunteers. We do not receive government grants or funds. There are no employees. Every person helping at the rescue is a volunteer. So every penny donated goes to the animals.

We are a no kill animal rescue. We are committed to the animals in our care and they are safe with us until the perfect home comes along. We are not breed or species specific. Visit LAAR.ORG or to learn more about us.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do mobile adoption events at least 2 - 4 times a month. Please see our upcoming scheduled events at LAAR.ORG. If there is a specific animal you'd like to meet, please let us know so that we bring him/her.

If you cannot attend our adoption events, fill out an application at LAAR.ORG under the Adoption Process page. Depending on your location and schedule, we may be able to set up a meet and greet.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please fill out an application on our website, LAAR.ORG. Go to the page titled "Adoption Process" for the application.

Our adoption process includes an application, home check, adoption contract and adoption fee.

We do not "sell" animals. We re-home animals and we ask for a donation to be made to our organization to help cover some of the costs we incur when we take on an animal. Quite often the animals are not in the best of health so they are immediately taken to the vet and given whatever medical attention is necessary. *The adoption fee for dogs is $300-500 and for cats/kittens is $175.
