Facts about Roxanne

  • Breed: Chow Chow/Golden Retriever Mix
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 76642

Roxanne came to the Humane Society of Imperial County in late April with a grave injury to her hind end. She was brought in by a person who had seen her running as a stray for two months in Mexicali. Her injury was so old the vet was unsure how she survived as a stray for so long and wasted no time doing a double rear leg amputation. Roxanne has been in foster care since surgery and is like a new dog! She received the wonderful gift of a wheelchair from Ruff Rollin' a few weeks ago so she is ready for a forever home. Roxanne is potty trained to potty pads, and she is working on learning to go potty outside. She is crate trained and knows the command 'kennel' means to get in her crate. She is dog selective, but coexists in a home with large and small dogs. Roxanne is incredibly loving and affectionate. She loves nothing more than getting belly rubs and cuddling on soft blankets! Please consider adopting this special needs girl!
Roxanne , Chow Chow & Golden Retriever Mix has been shared from Shelter Exchange.

About Humane Society of Imperial County

About Our Shelter...

We offer a wide variety of services to our community: We take in stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals, we hold daily adoptions (all day long) at our shelter, weekly adoption events, we offer a low cost spay and neuter program to the public, we provide a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program for feral cats, take and provide information for those who inquire about lost and/or found animals and questions pertaining to Animal Control.

We work with several different shelters and rescue groups outside of the Imperial Valley. We try to send out as many of our animals as we can to ensure that our animals get a second chance at a happy, healthy, and long life. They more than deserve it!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our shelter is open 9 am to 5 pm Monday thru Thursday and Saturdays 9 am to 2 pm. We also hold adoption events at Pet Kingdom in El Centro and Petco at the Imperial Valley Mall.

Our Adoption Process...

Dogs & Puppies - $140
Cats & Kittens - $75
The adoption fees include all animals being up to date on all vaccinations (including rabies), being spayed or neutered, and one free health examination with a local veterinarian. A signed adoption contract is required.

*If a dog or cat that you wish to adopt is too young to be spayed or neutered you may 'foster' the animal until their surgery can be performed. During this period we maintain ownership of the animal until the surgery is performed and you sign the adoption contract.
