Bud is a Golden mix approximately 7 years old.  He was found as a stray and his finder diligently tried to find his owner to no avail. Very sad but she had no calls so asked AGR to find Bud a loving forever home. He has the calm demeanor of a boy craving attention who always wants to be near you and with you. He also likes to lean up against you. He has been around a small female Terrier and did well with her.  He prefers to hang with other mellow dogs that will basically give him his space and not try to play.  We have not tested Bud with children or cats.

Bud is described as an absolute love, very sweet and friendly. He is good with food, gentle when he takes it and this will be to his new family's advantage when training. He also walks well on a leash. Based on what we do know of him and his temperament, with love and positive training, Bud will make any human very happy to have him in their hearts and home.

If you are interested in Bud, please visit our webpage at and complete an Online Adoption Application to begin the process, or send an e-mail to if you have questions and wish to be contacted.

Prior to adoption, all AGR dogs are given a full vet exam, including valley fever and heartworm tests, brought up to date on all vaccinations, given a microchip, neutered or spayed, and treated for any medical problems.

About Arizona Golden Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Arizona Golden Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to rescue displaced Golden Retrievers and mostly-Golden mixes that may have been abused, abandoned, neglected or unwanted or surrendered by their owners due to previously unforeseen circumstances, and find new, permanent homes for them. Rescued dogs are given a complete veterinary exam and their vaccines are updated; they are also microchipped, spayed or neutered, and tested for valley fever and heartworm. AGR provides emotional and medical rehabilitation and will pay for medications and for necessary surgeries. Through education at public appearances, AGR seeks to educate the public about the Golden Retriever breed and about responsible dog ownership, in order to help reduce the unwanted dog population.

Our Adoption Process...

Please note that all adoptable dogs remain on the website until their adoptions are finalized. As hard as we try to screen the adoptable dogs and their new potential "Forever Home", there is always the possibility that the FWITA (Foster With Intent To Adopt) and the adoptable dog are not compatible and then the dog would return to adoptable status"

Application must be submitted; can be downloaded from website. Home evaluation is done. Once approved, applicant must wait for placement of dog. If fostering with intent to adopt, applicant must pay membership fee (minimum $25 for single, $40 for household) and dog's adoption fee, which ranges from $350 for 0-2-year-old, to $325 for 2-5, $300 for 5- 9 and $250 for over 9. Organization covers all vet costs while dog is in foster care and until adoption is finalized.
