I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Pete's Info...

I am already neutered, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Pete's Story...
This is Pete. He arrived 9/10/16. He is around 12 weeks old. Less than 10 lbs. We decided to bring him into the Paws n'Time family after our shelter contact reached out. They did not have the resources available to figure out what is wrong with Pete. His only option would have been euthanasia. As you can tell this sweet boy has some sort of neurological issues. What he is doing is called intention tremors and is worse when he is trying to eat. It could be anything from a liver shunt to a congenital issue.
Despite his medical issue Pete is Very Sweet. When you hold him he will bury his head into your shoulder and his tremors subside. Pete can walk around. He cries for attention. He met at least two young children and went right up to them for attention. He is aware of when he needs to go potty and does so on the appropriate puppy pads.
Pete will see our Vet on Monday and then we will start the diagnostic process. This will include at least seeing a neurologist.
We are hoping to either provide Pete with the necessary medical care he needs to improve his symptoms. Or, if his medical issues can not be "fixed " then we will be looking for a very special home for this very special boy. We will list him on our Petfinder and adopt a pet sites this evening.
If you are able to donate to help offset his care please visit our website at http://www.pntcr.com/

Thank you so much to anyone able to help us help Pete!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pete, a Lancaster Rat Terrier/Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in Lancaster, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Lancaster.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lancaster already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lancaster breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lancaster paves the way for another one to be saved.
