Watch his video and meet Griffey! He is an active boy searching for an active home. It will be essential for Griffey to find a companion that can keep him mentally and physically stimulated. His enthusiasm and excitement for life is endearing but will need to be channeled into rigorous activities. Sometimes Griffey can become mouthy in play, so he will need to continue working on channeling his energy through positive outlets. Because of this Griffey will need a home with older dog savvy children. Although Griffey can do well with other playful, polite dogs, he can get overstimulated easily; he may not be a good candidate for dog parks or doggy day care. He will need to meet any of his new doggie friends here at OHS before going home. That's okay though, cause he'd be happy to get his exercise in other ways, like running, hiking, playing fetch in the backyard, or maybe even some agility training! If you are looking for a dog that is always willing to take on that next adventure at a full sprint then Griffey may be partner you have been looking for! A behavior consult is provided prior to adoption.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance and plenty of post adoption support!

About Oregon Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

•Visitors can meet one-on-one with pets in our "Get Acquainted Rooms." Bring the whole family--even your dog.
•To meet one of the animals in foster care, contact the Foster Care Department by calling (503) 416-5025 or email to set up an appointment. If provided in the animal's description, you may directly e-mail the foster care volunteer.
•If your pet meet is a success, you'll need to complete an adoption application (please do not fax or email the application, although you can download it and fill it out before you visit).
•You will be interviewed by an OHS adoption assistant to be sure you are familiar with any special needs the animal might have.
•We have a variable adoption fee policy based on an animal's age, breed, temperament, behavioral issues, and physical condition. Learn more here. If you are over 60 years old, be sure to ask about the adoption discount offered through the Pets for the Elderly Program.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt a pet at OHS, you'll need to fill out an adoption application and complete an interview with an adoption specialist. But what's more important is everything that comes before the application and the interview, namely, finding the best match possible.
