Hello, my name is Drue. I am a 5-year-old, 14 pound, male poodle and I’d love to meet you. When I first arrived in my foster home I could not use my hind legs. It turned out that this was because I had a herniated disc. I had surgery in the middle of September and the doctors say that I am making a great recovery! I can now walk on all four legs which is fantastic! I am improving a little bit every day and the doctors estimate that I will be fully or almost fully recovered by December. Right now my foster parents are helping me to get a lot of rest, love, and physical therapy.
Because of the back surgery, I’m not quite ready to be adopted. I need a couple more weeks of recovery and I still need to have a neuter procedure. Not sure what that is, but I’m told that I can go to my forever home after that! The earliest I could be adopted is late October, if I continue to recover well.
Some other information that you might be curious about: I am house trained, crate trained, and pretty good on a leash (sometimes I pull a little because I am so excited to be walking on all four legs!).
