Meet Latte! Latte is an adorable 15 lb. mix of scruffy Terrier, possibly some Cairn or Brussels Griffon. We scooped up Latte from the Long Beach Animal Shelter after coming across a photo that a volunteer had snapped of Latte in her kennel sadly staring off into the direction of where she last saw her owner. Our hearts broke for this devoted little dog, knowing that her owner was not coming back.
Latte is an all-around great dog. She is friendly, super smart, engaged with her people and she loves life. She is playful and spritely. Latte loves to play fetch and loves to play with other dogs. She would make a great addition to a multi-canine household or a great little buddy for an active person who loves to get out and enjoy life with a canine partner. Latte walks great on a leash and loves to go for car rides. She is well behaved and rides along quietly, yet curious in her car seat. Latte has wonderful house manners and does not cause any trouble. She also uses a dog door to go outside for potty. Although Latte can keep up with an active lifestyle, I have to also say that Latte is not a hyper dog. She loves to relax and cuddle if that is what her person is doing. She likes to follow her foster mom around the house so she can stay in tune with her person.
Latte gets along with dogs of all sizes. She currently lives with a small Chihuahua mix and they love to play together. There is also an older grumpy Chihuahua in the foster home who has no desire to play and Latte respects his wishes. Latte barks at appropriate times such as the doorbell ringing but she is not a yappy dog.
Note* Latte has environmental allergies. We have kept her in our rescue for 5 months so we could go through the process of elimination on what could be causing her allergies and we have narrowed things down to an environmental/pollen allergy. Latte needs to stay on medication, ongoing, to keep her allergies under control and flare up free. We are hoping for a compassionate adopter who will not hold her condition against her, as allergies, same as with people, are actually common to many dogs. We are more than happy to discuss this, including medication costs, in more detail with anyone considering this wonderful deserving little dog.
