Facts about Blue

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Gray/Blue/Silver/Salt & Pepper
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Blue is an 11 month old special needs Pit Bull Terrier. When she was 6 months old she suddenly became paralyzed and unfortunately her owners could no longer care for her. She arrived at Heath's Haven Rescue when she was 10 months old and was evaluated by the neurological specialists at the Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, too much time had passed from the time of her injury to the time of the evaluation and surgery was not an option for her.

Blue gets around great in her wheelchair and is an active girl that loves to go for walks! Her wheelchair will go with her to her forever home! She is looking for a home that can express her bladder 3 times per day as she is incontinent (has no control over bladder and bowels). This is really easy to learn how to do and she knows to hold still while you do it! Blue loves to be with her people and is a social butterfly!

Blue does well with other dogs, is curious about cats, and does well with children. She is current on vaccines, will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption, crate trained, and current on flea/tick preventatives.

If you are interested in adopting her, please fill out an application on our website at

About Heath's Haven Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Heath's Haven is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, organization dedicated to rescuing and improving the lives of special needs animals in the community. We specialize in the rehabilitation of animals with neurological conditions and mobility issues. The dogs are provided with everything they need to succeed in a forever home, including a wheelchair if needed.
We do this for the animals that would otherwise be looked over and euthanized. Our mission is to educate the public that special needs dogs can live a meaningful, healthy, happy life...just like any other dog!

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process for Heath's Haven Rescue starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. We will then contact the potential adopter to set up a Meet and Greet for the dog and the potential adopter. The next step is a "sleepover." This could be for one night, a weekend, or even as long as a week or two. We want it to work for everyone! Next, the potential adopter would fill out he adoption contract and submit their adoption donation of $150.
