Facts about Scrappy Doo

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 10557945-3654 JG
  • Hair: Short

Scrappy Doo is a sweet, sleek, and handsome orange tabby. He was born outdoors and came a little late to the socialization game, so he is very shy and takes a while to warm up to new humans. That just increases the satisfaction you gain from seeing him make progress. He will weave around and rub up against the legs of his special human, and pop up on his hind legs to nuzzle his snout into a hand. He has even shown signs of wanting to be a lap cat. Scrappy needs the companionship of another cat, and he loves his foster pal, fellow orange tabby Pete. They chase each other, play, and wrestle, and then cuddle once they are worn out. Scrappy needs a quiet adult home with a cat-experienced guardian who is willing to give him the time to let him evolve and flourish. We estimate he was born July 1, 2015. Bio# 3654 JG

About Island Cat Resources and Adoption (ICRA)

About Our Rescue Group...

ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

  • Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
  • Cats (over 8 years): $75
  • Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat

    For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150

Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • FeLV and FIV tested
  • FVRCP vaccinated
  • De-wormed, and
  • Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
