Max is a beautiful 2.5 year old sweet shepherd st Bernard mix who is looking for is forever family to love.
He is so very awesome and sweet. He leans on you for love and only wants love back. His eyes tell all. He is good with other dogs and adults and older children would be better because he is a big boy and little ones would be too much for him. We don't know about cats. He is about 95 lbs and has a beautiful coat. He is house and crate trained but doesn't live in a crate.
He does not need another dog in the home if he has a family to love. He is an inside family dog but loves to be outside exploring the yard and being active. He would do well with someone who walks or an active family who would love to have a sweet dog along side. Another dog would be ok in the home but a fenced in yard would be needed.
Max was living chained in a backyard alone for the first year of his life and he was an owner surrender after his previous owner was moving and going to leave him chained in the yard to stave and die. They did not teach him anything and basically left him alone all day. It was a very horrible and sad existence for Max.
Max went into a rescue and currently is in a boarding kennel type of environment.
This is not working for him as he needs more interaction with a family. He is very lonely and loves attention.
Max knows some commands and would do well with a little more basic training as he still jumps from joy when he sees you and he is learning not to do that. He knows his basic commands at this point. He is very treat motivated and loves his walks. He would need an experienced big dog owner and someone who will take the time with him.
His adoption fee is $ 250 which includes all his vaccines, heartworm test, neuter and micro chip. If you would like to meet Max, please send us an e mail in order to receive an application. We are only able to meet with pre approved adopters by appointment since our organization is operating on foster homes only and we don't have a shelter available to the public.
