My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dexter is fostered in Waukee IA 50263, through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org.
Dexter is a 7year old, 10 lb. male Yorkie who came to United Yorkie Rescue in September 2016. Dexter was surrendered by his owners due to potty issues noted specifically marking in the house. Since arriving to his foster home he's been on a regular potty schedule and has been going outside with no in house marking issues. He does wear a belly band when not under supervision to prevent marking or potty accidents in the home while he's learning the ropes and until his behaviors are established. Dexter gets along very well with all family members. He enjoys children, men & women. He also interacts well with the other dogs in the home. He's most happy sleeping in a bed with humans; he's loves being with his people and will make a wonderful companion. Dexter is neutered and up to date on shots. Dexter's ideal forever home will require a solid/secure fence, no exceptions. He runs with speed and enjoys chasing rabbits and other wild life. His previous owners had a problem with him escaping from the home. Dexter wants a home with lots of attention, regular exercise and a fenced yard to run and play in. He's a smart, affectionate Yorkie seeking an affectionate and patient forever family. Dexter's new family will need to continue working with Dexter on consistent potty training. This would mean pottying on a regular schedule and rewarding experience. Are ready for this big bundle of love to leap into your heart?
