My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Perdita! She was named by the staff at a local shelter after a heroine out of one of William Shakespeare's plays, "A Winter's Tale." The character, Perdita, was born in prison, which seems sad, but fitting to her situation. Perdita was picked up as a stray & taken to a local shelter. Her real story, no one knows, but given the shape she was in when she came to the shelter, I can't help but unfortunately think it was a sad one.. Luckily, we can change that now! She was basically a walking rib cage (& honestly, despite how well fed she is in her foster home, is still pretty thin.) It appeared as though she had a litter of pups & all of her nutrition must have gone to her babies. This sweet girl was clearly not provided the proper care she deserved in her former life. Perdita is a pure joy to be around! Even the staff at the shelter knew exactly who she was & were all excited to see her make it out! This happy girl is a prisoner no longer! She is ready to find her FORever family! She loves her companions, both two-legged & four-legged alike! In her foster home, she has three foster brother dogs, a 25 lb terrier mix, a beagle & an 80 lb lab/dane mix.. No matter the size difference, Perdita loves to wrestle, play & snuggle with them all! She also loves her two-legged, human foster brothers.. Ages 2 and 8. Perdita loves nothing more than to snuggle up on the couch with anyone willing to cuddle.. & the noises she makes during the process are the cutest! She happily grumbles & grunts at any sign of affection.. But rarely barks. If her people are busy & unable to snuggle, the next best thing is cuddling with her doggy foster brothers or curling up in a doggy bed nearby. She is a smart girl.. House broken, crate trained & also knows how to use a doggy door. She has expanded the hearts of her foster family in the short time she has been there.. Just imagine the amount of joy & love Perdita could bring to YOUR heart & home! Do you have a spot in your family for this sweet, charismatic, fun, playful, loving girl?! She would love to meet you!!
