Pistol's Story...
Irresistible is an understatement to describe our 3 year old Chihuahua, Pistol. Just look at those eyes and ears....then TRY to turn away. Pistol may be extra small weighing under 10 pounds, but this guy is heavy with personality. He loves to snuggle with his foster mommy and takes advantage of as many love sessions as possible! Pistol thinks he's the boss sometimes, so Pistol needs a strong leader. He plays well with the other dogs in his foster home. Sometimes he likes to dominate the playtime, sometimes he will follow. Pistol just needs a committed person who will love and train him through this bump in his life that left him without his special someone. He is partially house trained and working hard to achieve success. Our tan guy likes children and currently either sleeps in his crate or with his foster parents. Pistol is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Cuties like our small fella don't last long in rescues, but Pistol requires a consistent and patient person who understands the hard times that have been dropped in his life. If our lovable cutie sounds like a guy you want to adopt, take time to love, and claim forever; please complete an application at ITVRescue.org. Pistol is ready to take your lead and have time to learn your house rules. He never wants to be homeless again.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pistol, a Evansville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Evansville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Evansville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Evansville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evansville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evansville paves the way for another one to be saved.
