Daltrey is 2 year old pit bull. He is a sweet and beautiful boy. He’s full of vinegar and has lots of energy to burn off… lol. His foster mom adores him. He adjusted well to his new schedule. He stays in a large kennel while she is at work, and goes in without any problems. He has not had 1 accident in the house. Holds his potty great. He is learning to walk well on a leash, but the darn squirrels are driving him crazy. He can’t go on a walk without everyone wanting to meet him and tell foster mom what a beautiful dog he is.
He seems to be more calm around females. He thinks men are to play rough with. He is VERY food motivated. Loves treats, raw hides, ropes, balls and deer antlers. He has learned to sit, shake both paws, down. We are currently working on stay. He loves other dogs, has been good with both male and female that are spayed and neutered. He hasn’t been introduced to unaltered dogs yet. He is still just a big kid and likes to run after being in the kennel all day. He leaps like a deer and sometimes prances like a horse. He will jump a 4 foot fence when he sees other dogs and wants to go socialize so he will require either a privacy fence or being taken out to potty on a leash. He still gets very excited when company comes, but settles down after a bit. He has been around toddlers but that crazy tail wags and is a bit rough on the little ones.
Daltrey is still a work in progress but it won’t be long before he’s ready for a family to call his own.
