Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Serena - 1 year old purebred female Miniature Schnauzer. Serena was rescued from an LA county shelter right after 4th of July.. she came into the shelter after being hit by a car. Her front left leg had severe nerve damage. After 6 weeks of acupuncture/laser treatments along with supplements the vet concluded there was no improvement and recommended amputation. So on Aug 24 we proceeded with amputation. She is doing great after only a few days (can even walk up and down the stairs)! She has some follow-up for the surgery be we anticipate she will be ready in mid September to go home. Serena does GREAT with other dogs she loves to play play play. Serena is about 15 pounds and has a natural tail. As a side note.. the day after we picked up Serena we also picked up another mini that had been hit by a car and had nerve damage (4th of July is the worse time of the year, many dogs end up getting hit by cars). At any rate both dogs went through acupuncture/laser treatment together... unfortunately neither had improvement. We expect Sererna to be read for adoption mid September.
