Peanut is a wonderful, sweet, and loving 8 years young Corgi mix who weighs about 24 lbs. This sweet little lady is affectionate and mellow. She loves people and riding in the car. She loves going for walks & taking naps. She is quiet and an overall lovely little dog. Peanut can be a bit selfish when it comes to sharing toys or food, and would do best in a home where she is the only pet. Due to her bladder issues, it is also best for Peanut if she has full access to go outside during the day.
Peanut came into our rescue with chronic dry eye, which is controlled with eye ointment that she will need to continue for the rest of her life. Peanut has also been diagnosed with arthritis, which occasionally can be painful for her. She is currently on glucosamine & fish oil supplements. Peanut also struggles with skin allergies as well as urinary incontinence and she is being treated for these as well with the specialist. She is currently on the following medications: (1) Bethanecol is used to stimulate bladder contractions , also to assist in emptying the bladder. (2) Prazosin is used to help in emptying the bladder at time of urination. (3) Apoquel is used to treat and control itching and skin inflammation in dogs, please note that this is not a steroid and will not increase her thirst or water intake. (4) C/D diet for the stuvite crystals, this will help to keep them from forming
Peanut is looking for the perfect home, despite her special needs, she will make a wonderful addition to any family and would love to find a forever home of her very own!
Peanut's adoption fee is $125.00 - She is spayed, microchipped & up to date on her vaccines.
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
