My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well Hiya, my name is Joelle, what is your name? I’m a sweet little lady looking for my forever home. I was found as a stray, and no one came looking for me, so now my friends NBS are helping me find a home that will love me, and never let me go! It’s not likely that I’ve known an unkind hand – as I am passionately social with humans. When I was brought into the shelter, and into rescue, I’d cower and reach my paws out. All I wanted was a comforting hug! Once you kneel to my level, I reach my little paws up to hold onto your shoulders. When I came to NBS, I did need basic vetting and had a large fatty tumor on my chest. Thankfully, it wasn’t dangerous, and was easily removed. I also had a bite scar that appeared to be from another dog, so I really don’t care for big dogs, they scare me. My foster mom has other dogs in the house that I don’t mind – but I don’t really play with them, and don't like to be jumped on or bothered by playful dogs. My motivation is 100% focused on snuggling with humans. I LOVE people – anyone who makes eye contact is subject to my kisses. If you have company, I tend to huff and puff until someone picks me up so I can lick them. My breed guess is mini-pin-terrier mix, and my silvery muzzle is just for glittery show, I’m actually estimated to be about 3-4 years old!

As you might expect, there’s perks to adopting an adult little lady like myself (17lbs).
- I am 95% potty trained (new places can be intimidating though!)
- I know “sit”
- I’m an excellent walking partner
- I’m a “scuba-snuggler-extraordinaire” (I burrow under the covers on the bed, and dive in and under to keep your feet warm
- I love men and women, and don’t mind kids 6 years and up (little ones tend to have sudden movements. I’m not mean to them, they just frighten me)
- I’m cat and kitten friendly!
- I’m crate trained (but will bark if you put me in it while you’re home. I reeeeeaally want to be close to you)
- I love rope toys
- I’m great for car rides, and would love to share a plain vanilla ice-cream with you once in awhile

If you’re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application at www.NBSAnimalRescue.com

P.S. Here are the helpful steps in applying!

1.) Visit www.NBSAnimalRescue.com happy to adopt me. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you, and whatever other pets you have in the home to make sure we all get along. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to do the next steps too. : )

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release info about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your vet). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
