ELVIS is everything you could ever want in a family dog. This big guy is just 7 months old, so you get all of the adorable and goofy aspects of a puppy without having go through the no bladder control and teething stages! ELVIS is as wonderful as he is handsome. He is eager to greet all people and he seems to adore every dog on the planet. He shares his foster home with a resident young adult lab and a grumpy senior lab. He gets along with both famously. He understands that the old guy doesn't want to play and leaves him alone. He is a great dog park and daycare pup.

ELVIS is also fantastic with his foster parents' 2 young boys. He will follow them anywhere they want to go. He is always up for ball in the backyard or hanging out while they are doing homework. He spends just as much time lounging on the couch or at his foster family's feet as he spends
playing and exploring. He is very smart and eager to please. He is a great car passenger and will be a great companion for camping, hiking, and road trips. He is calm in his crate while his family is at work and picked up on potty training really quickly. While he doesn't live with any cats, we are happy to introduce him to some if you have feline family members. We are sure this happy boy will be just fine with them. ELVIS is ready to bring his loving nature and handsome looks to his forever home. He is certain to make his forever family smile for many years to come.

ELVIS is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
His $450 adoption fee includes interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ELVIS, a Minnesota Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound for sale in Minnesota, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Minnesota.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minnesota already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minnesota breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minnesota paves the way for another one to be saved.
