Maya is a 1 and a half year old Akita / Great Pyrenees mix who is looking for a best friend and companion. She is a bit weary with new people but if you spend some time with her and show her there is nothing to fear, she will be your best pal. Maya enjoys to play with her toys! She loves to run after tennis balls and if they squeak that makes her very happy! She's a smart girl who knows lots of skills, such as leave it, sit and shake. Maya would do best in a home that has lots of time to give her as she's an active girl who will need lots of mental stimulation. She's about 50 lbs and is potty trained. Maya will require some leash work & we can help you with that. Maya is interested in dogs & a dog with great manners will help her out. A calm home would be best for Maya as she startles easily. She is very sweet & wants to learn about how great the world can be! We suggest no young children.

About Dogs by Debin

About Our Rescue Group...

We were developed based on the fact that there is a gap in the system here locally. The shelters that are open-intake, although they are doing the best they can, they can only do so much. Those shelters are also very stressful to the dogs & this is where we step in. You can consider our place a half-way home for dogs if you will. We allow the dogs to be dogs again, offering them behavioral modification, land to run on, playgroups & necessary vet care. With this being said, our adoption rate is sometimes slowed due to the fact the dog(s) may not be ready for adoption right away. We set our dogs up for success & match them with the right family. Our final goal is to have the adoptions last the dog's lifetime.

Our #1 goal though is to have a dog stay in their current home, should it be safe. We offer counseling & resources to do our best to make this happen. When it's not possible, they may safely surrender the dog to us, provided we have space.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come in and meet our dogs anytime during normal business hours. Our hours of operation can be found on our website at www.DogsbyDebin.com.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a Adoption Application located on our website at www.DogsbyDebin.com under the Applications tab. Each potential adopter is required to fill out.

After the Adoption Application is reviewed, and requirements are verified, Dogs by Debin will contact adopter, and if eligible, appointment will be made to come in and meet our dogs.

We try and list our adoption fees when posting our dogs. All of our adoption fees include: Age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, tested for heart worm (if positive, we treat them), and a free training session with our local trainer. If the adoption is a puppy, the training session will be at 4mths or older.
