SALSA UPDATE!!!

Salsa is doing very well in foster care! Her foster mom has this to say: Sweet little Salsa would love a home with morning walks, snuggles on the couch and bed, and plenty of love!

She loves to go on morning walks--walks right out, no tugging or lunging, stops occasionally to sniff.
She rides in the car very well also, although she occasionally barks at the cows in the pasture if they are near the road!
She POSITIVELY LOVES snuggling on your lap, and at night, she burrows under the covers to the foot of the bed and stays there until morning.
She is learning that she is no longer the QUEEN DIVA DOG, but is handling this quite nicely.
All in all, Salsa is a feisty little Chi mix with personality plus!

Salsa's mama passed away last summer. She's been in boarding and just recently was returned to us at APUR (she was adopted from here in 2010), looking bedraggled and underweight/malnourished. The stress of boarding (in a lonely, dirty kennel set up in the country) was nearly too much for her. APUR is just grateful to have her back. Her 'sister' Lilo (a sheltie/corgi mix) has already been adopted out.
Salsa can be adopted any time to a loving, caring and understanding home!

Salsa was 10lbs. when she entered boarding - she was barely over 6lbs. upon arrival back at APUR. But she has regained since, and a good weight would be 8-9lbs. for her.

We'd prefer kids over 10/12 yrs. due to Salsa not having been around younger kids. Thank you for understanding.

There is a donation of $215 for Salsa to help offset our costs in preparing her for a new home.

**All our foster dogs and puppies have been vaccinated with Galaxy DA2PPv at least ONE TIME. When appropriate and available, they get a rabies vaccination, and they have been dewormed at least once. They come with a health record that reflects this at the time of adoption. They are also Microchipped and come with a free month of health insurance.** If interested in adopting this pet please email us and request an application to complete and return via email. This does not obligate you in any way but it does allow us to gather the necessary information to determine if this dog is a good match for your family. No meet and greets take place without a completed/approved application. Important note: beginning in June of 2007, homes with children under 7 years of age will be required to enroll any puppies or adult dogs (at our discretion) adopted from us in puppy kindergarten and/or basic obedience classes. **We DO allow out of state adoptions, but we DO NOT ship our pets, all adopters are required to pick up their new family member HERE, within a week of your application being completed and being approved to adopt.**
Please remember to visit your local city or county shelter, your dream dog could be there, waiting for his/her second chance!
