Facts about Otis

  • Species: Guinea Pig
  • Color: White
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
Otis is an approx. 3-6 month old male American short-haired guinea pig. His previous owner surrendered him to a over-crowded shelter. Otis was in a cage with 3 other males who "picked-on" him causing an injury to his ear at the shelter. We do not know any history or even why he was surrendered.
We have been working with Otis everyday since being with our rescue. He came to us very frightened and tended to nip. He doesn't like to be picked up or handled, He has really come a long way with trusting humans. He has calmed down considerably. Otis is NOT recommended for children. We are recommending an experienced guinea pig owner for Otis. He is not mean at all. He is actually a very sweet little guy. He has a great personality and is quiet. He does not like to be out of the safety of his cage. He would be a perfect fit for someone who would like a pet that doesn't require a lot of handling. He is absolutely fine when clipping his nails but he does run around his cage when trying to catch him. The rescue can provide a cage (29" L x 17" W x 16" H) , water bottle, hut and food dish.

About Little Fur Ball Guinea Pig Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Little Fur Ball Guinea Pig is a small all volunteer rescue and sanctuary for aging and/or medically un-adoptable guinea pigs. We have a handful of fosters homes mostly located in Montgomery County, PA. We do our best to rescue as many guinea pigs from high-kill shelters as we can. We also take in unwanted guinea pigs from the local community when we have the room to do so. Sometimes, we will take in super urgent bunnies and hamsters (when we have the space to do so). Guinea pigs are loving little animals that make great pets. So many are waiting in shelters for new homes. We work hard to help as many as we can. If you would like to foster a guinea pig for us, please email us. We will provide the cage, water bottle, dish and hut. Our rescue solely operates on donations, for those of you who would like to donate, please email our rescue and we can set up a place and time to meet to pick up any donations. We really appreciate any donation. Thank you in advance.

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you see a guinea pig that you would like to meet and/or adopt, email us so we can set up a date and a time at a public location.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is done by email. We will email the adoption application. Once the application is reviewed and approved, we will set up a date and time at a public location to complete the adoption. At that time, we require an Adoption Contract to be signed. Our adoption donations are discussed at the time of the application. IF we have spare cages and accessories, they will also be included with adoption. If we do not have spare cages, the adopter must purchase before the adoption is complete.
