Bon Jovi's Story...
What a handsome guy! Sweet Bon Jovi is a 7 year old white and Chocolate Dapple Dachshund. He is technically a miniature, but doesn't look like it right now! He is quite a bit overweight. His previous owners brought him to the shelter when they had health issues that prevented them from taking care of him. Bon Jovi is a very loving guy, and obviously used to being spoiled! He would love to find a family that will continue to spoil him, just not in the form of food. His new family will need to help him loose weight so that he can live a longer and healthier life! He will also need his teeth cleaned in the very near future. Bon Jovi has been getting along great with the other dogs in his room, but seems like he would be fine being the only pet as well. He has been a bit hesitant about being picked up, and might be better with older children that won't try to drag him around! He appears to be housetrained, but will surely need some reminders in his new environment. He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you think you are the right person for this awesome boy, come and meet him today at our Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook! We are open daily from 12-6pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bon Jovi, a Benbrook Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Benbrook, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Benbrook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Benbrook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Benbrook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Benbrook paves the way for another one to be saved.
