Looking for love and loyalty in the form of an adorable 40 pound “yellow German Shepherd”? They don’t come much sweeter than me! I am a beautiful mix of Yellow Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd. Just 4 years old, I am spayed, fully vaccinated, and perfectly house broken.

I am really good natured dog who loves everyone. I get along just great with other dogs, cats and children, whom I adore. I am very loyal to my humans, and always stay close, even when I am off leash.

I have been the companion of a little girl for the past 3 years. We have had a lot of fun together, playing outdoors, snuggling indoors and being each other’s best friend. I helped her cope with being away from her Dad, with whom she has recently gone to live full-time. Now I am mostly spending time by myself and Grandma and Grampa’s house. They work full time, and just aren’t able to offer me the attention and companionship I need and deserve.

I am looking for a family in the country – or in the city (with a securely fenced back yard) who will appreciate and cherish me. I am such a great girl and will make you smile every day. I do need owners who have lots of time to spend with me. I love to play, and can sometimes get carried away, so you do need to make sure that playtime is controlled and we don’t rough house too much.

Please offer me a loving, forever home today. I can’t wait to meet you and dazzle you with my bright smile and amazing personality.

Love and Licks,

About Vermont Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters are rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
