Ruby is kind, affectionate and loving but playful, which is amazing considering she was confiscated as part of a cruelty case. She is 2-3 years old, a petite 32lbs, spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. She is heartworm positive but undergoing treatment and will make a full recovery. She’s house-trained and will go in her crate but there's rarely a need because she's so good in the house. Ruby is great on a leash (no lunging or pulling), rides very well in the car and is very quiet except for alerting when someone is in the yard or at the door. She loves to snuggle next to you on the couch and sleeps on the floor next to the bed. She has a heeler's natural curiosity and likes to play with other dogs but beyond that has a fairly low activity level. We believe Ruby would do best in a calm home with another friendly canine pack-mate. Not tested with cats or small children but she has a very low prey drive – especially for a herding dog. She’s eager to please, smart and easy to train. Ruby is just the sweetest soul and deserves the same in an owner! She’s being fostered in the Dade City, FL area but transport can be arranged. Her adoption fee is $250.
