Rex is an extremely sweet dog. He looooves getting belly rubs any chance he can get. He is gentle, friendly, affectionate, playful and is just an ideal dog for anyone looking for a big lap dog and cuddler companion! He gets along with dogs of all sizes and humans of all ages! What I learned from picking him up from the shelter is that he was confiscated from an abusive environment and that might be why he is a little shy, quiet, and submissive.
He is housebroken and does know 'sit'; we are working on other commands. He walks okay on a leash but we haven't had much walking time because he has heart worm and is in the process of receiving treatment which requires him to be in a quiet and restful environment. Rex was saved from euthanasia and is looking for a fresh start with a loving family! Please see videos and pictures.
He was scheduled to be euthanized, but San Antonio Pets Alive! saved him and now they are helping him find the forever, loving home that he has never known.
He is currently located at San Antonio Pets Alive!, and is in a foster home. By adopting him, you not only give him a new leash on life; you also save the life of the additional dog who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care.
If you are interested in adopting, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with Pet name and ID#. Please allow us up to 24 hours to respond as all fosters work with us on a volunteer basis.
