My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An adoption application on COCOA can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

COCOA is everything a lab lover wants! She is smart, beautiful, sweet, and fun. Her sparkling, soulful eyes radiate kindness. After just a few short days with her, you know she is a wonderful dog and that she already loves you. She is the very desirable age of a year old...perfect to absorb training and full of puppy fun! However she is passed the months of hard potty training and constant chewing that comes with comes with a baby puppy. COCOA is incredibly loyal and endlessly affectionate towards those she knows. Once you are her buddy its for life! She will climb in you lab for hugs or snuggle for hours on end. She also loves to play outside! She will happily accompany her family on any and all outdoor adventures. We think she would make a great hiking or jogging buddy. She gets along with both big and small dogs. She currently shares her foster home with both a lab and a shih tzu. COCOA rides well in the car, has nice house manners, and is excellent in her crate while her foster mom is at work. She enjoys children and would make years of happy memories playing with her family in the back yard. She would also be an ideal companion for a single person or a couple. COCOA truly has endless love to give and no one is more deserving of a happy ever.

COCOA is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and transport to the Midwest.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
