Amalie & Starby-ADOPTED!'s Story...
Amalie is a gorgeous, mama cat. She was found pregnant and gave birth to four beautiful kittens. Amalie is social, friendly, loving and affectionate. Three of her kittens have long gone home but Amalie remains behind to keep her adorable little son company. To make a long, sad story short, Starby has a congenital heart defect. He has had ultrasounds and has been seen by the best cardiologist in the state and the prognosis is not good. He could live two years or five. No one can predict but he is enjoying life right now and since he can't be with other kittens that might exhaust him, his mom will stay with him until his heart can't support him any longer. The cardiologist does recommend that Starby be up for adoption with his mom to a special person rather than remain in the foster home. This way he can enjoy an entire home and get more attention and the family will still have wonderful Amalie when Starby leaves. Please call if you are that person. We know that there are angels out there. Please fill out an application on our website www.hucatrescue.org and call or email us. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amalie & Starby-ADOPTED!, a Bristol Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Bristol, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Bristol.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bristol already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bristol breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bristol paves the way for another one to be saved.
