My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pictures coming soon!

G'day everyone! My name is Matilda (my foster mum calls me Mati for short). A few stats about myself. I am about 3 years old and weigh about 12 pounds. My fur had to be shaved when I was brought in, but my foster mum thinks I might end up more smooth coated than curly with touches of tan and caramel in my fur.

Do not let the serious look on my face fool you (I think that comes from my slight overbite which gives me character!) I am learning to be playful again and wish my foster bros were younger so they would play with me more.

Some words that describe me? Well, one would be cute. So says my foster mum, her dog walker, and others that I meet. Who am I to argue? Along with cute would be cuddly. As I have learned to trust my foster mum, I find one of my favorite things is to curl up next to her as she relaxes. Another would be curious. Although I walk great on a leash, I have to stop and smell everything!

Finally, I am very cautious, especially when meeting new dogs or people. I do best when introduced slowly so I can learn for myself that everything is okay (I think I learned my caution living on the streets).

What do I wish for? I wish for a forever home that has a human to give me tons of attention, and has a sibling to share my playfulness. Paws crossed!

Matilda needs another dog in the home or someone home most of the time. Children need to be at least 10 years old. She is located in IL
