My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maverick is one sweet, gorgeous guy! He loves to play with his ball and is quite a powerhouse. Although as sweet as he can be, he will need someone who can handle him. He is big and strong and very active. Had he not been heartworm positive he would probably have a job as a working dog. He will need someone he respects and that will give him the exercise and structure he needs. He is gentle with children but a bit rough taking treats, and because of his size and energy level might not be good with smaller ones.

His foster thinks the slow kill method would be best for him because of his energy level. However, if the adopter is up to keeping him quiet for the two month rest period needed for the regular treatment, the rescue will do that.

Maverick will sit for you and does fairly well on a leash. He will chase the ball for hours if you are up to it! He is one smart boy and would do well in training. We will update as we learn more about this fantastic boy.
