Gladys is a 1-2 year old Dapple Dachshund Chihuahua mix, also known as a Chiweenie. She is a playful, high energy girl who really needs someone who can spend time throwing a ball or toy, taking her on walks and just spending time to love her. She's an active, inquisitive pup who is always exploring her surroundings. Gladys would do best in a multi-pet home, preferably with a fenced-in yard. She is dog and cat friendly, housebroken & crate trained.
Poor Gladys was found tied to a pole at a vet's office on a 6-lane highway. When the staff arrived Monday morning, it appeared Gladys had been tied there since early Sunday morning - they think because of her dapple color she blended in and no one noticed her all day Sunday.
Of course poor Gladys was terrified of everyone and all of the unfamiliar surroundings. The vet's office was not equipped to house any dogs long term, and they knew what would happen if they sent her to the high kill shelter, so they sent her to boarding. After a hold period, Gladys was eventually off to the kill shelter. One of the staff at boarding contacted a volunteer, who called EHR to help. She is now living in a foster home with lots of dogs & cats & she is doing well.
If you would like to meet her, please fill out an application at www.ehrdogs.org & be sure to mention her name - GLADYS JUNE!
