Vesta's Story...
Vesta looks like a blend of Pharaoh Hound and yellow Labrador retriever. It’s hard to tell, but her ears, physic, and sleek beautiful good looks make her look very much like a pharaoh hound.

Vesta is an extremely elegant looking dog. If you look at ancient Egyptian pictures, you will see how this wonderful breed has charmed humans for thousands of years.

Vesta is only 7 months old – she is incredibly sweet, gentle, well-behaved, and gorgeous.

Vesta is wonderful with children, with other dogs, with adults, and it seems, everything that comes her way.

Vesta is a very intelligent dog who learns quickly. She is gentle and mellow, and affectionate and loving once she gets to know you (which will take about 3 days max!).

Vesta loves to play but also knows how to lie down quietly. She is loving and tries hard to please.

If you are looking for an unusual and a strikingly beautiful and elegant pup, Vesta is the doggie for you.

I have been fostering dogs and pups (as well as farm animals!) for over 15 years, and Vesta is honestly one the most wonderful dogs I have ever had the pleasure of fostering -- she is fabulous! She is no ordinary girl and should go to a family who appreciates outstanding and unusual dogs like this!

She is amazingly lovely – absolutely gorgeous, and has a stunning thin, sleek shape with perfectly pointed ears.

Vesta is house trained, gentle, mellow and extremely good natured. She is also crate trained and loves to chew on a good bone when she is hanging out in her crate.

I did some research on Pharaoh Hounds and this is what I read:
Pharaoh Hounds are friendly, playful, outgoing, and affectionate with their family. They can be aloof with strangers, but are peaceful.

Pharaoh Hounds love children and are intelligent, playful dogs. They are show-offs and will do anything to please their owners.

Vesta isn’t a barker –I am not sure I have ever heard her bark, but she will also protect her family. She is quiet and well behaved. She isn’t a jumper and never runs off –I have her in my front yard a lot (which is not fenced), and she always comes when she is called.

I think Vesta is truly a special young girl!

Of course, their adoption covers her spay, all of her annual shots including her DA2PPV, Bordetella and rabies shots .

You might even want to take lovely Vesta home for a “sleepover” to see how your family, your other pets, and the new puppy all get along.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vesta, a Poway Pharaoh Hound/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pharaoh Hound/Labrador Retriever for sale in Poway, or seeking a Pharaoh Hound/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Poway.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Poway already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Poway breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pharaoh Hound/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Pharaoh Hound/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Poway paves the way for another one to be saved.
