Hazel's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Hazel's Story...
Hazel came from the Stanislaus shelter where she was left with some very large hernias. We removed those hernias and spayed Hazel so that she would be more comfortable. She is about 10 years old and a very mere 5 lbs. Hazel is a bit shy with new people and can be skittish. It doesn’t appear that she had the best care nor was she socialized well. Her foster parents are still working on teaching her to walk on a leash as it seems to be a new experience for her. She is a very sweet dog and lives in a home with other dogs, however she does not play with them.

She loves to go for rides in the car and she loves to cuddle. She never learned how to play with toys so she has no interest in them. She has not been around children and due to her being a little timid we are not recommending them. She has been around cats and is fine with them.

She sleeps in a crate at night and when her foster parents are gone for more than a couple hours during the day. She is still having an occasional accident in her crate so she needs a willing person to continue her training. She goes potty outside but has not learned how to tell you she needs to go, so frequent trips outside are needed or a doggie door. We do not recommend Hazel for an apartment as she is not potty pad trained.

Hazel would be perfect for a quiet home with a few dogs or no dogs at all. She is very loving and would love someone who is willing to give her the time that she needs to continue to learn how to be a dog. She just needs guidance. She is very sweet but needs a patient family.

Hazel is spayed, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, heartworm negative and started on heartworm preventative. She has also had a full blood panel which tells us her insides are good and she has had a dental. Because she is a senior her adoption fee is $100. If a senior adopts her we will reduce her adoption fee to $50, however you still must have the funds to afford any medical care that may come up. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hazel, a Vacaville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Vacaville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Vacaville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vacaville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vacaville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vacaville paves the way for another one to be saved.
